I highly recommend this place! Great point to start your tour in Brindidi, very interesting history, greatly told by the guide (Richard greetings!) we have been listening the stories with huge curiosity, it is so interesting. In addition, there are beautiful views there. definitely worth it! You can get there by bus no. 4 or 5 from the city center :)

What a fantastic place to visit, so much history connected to the castle. Richard our tour guide provided so much information connected to the castle and how over the years the castle had been occupied by so many from the middle ages to the Italian Naval Marines occupying the structure until 1983 then abandoned until excavation work by archaeologist eventually opening the place up for guided tours. Highly recommend a visit

Great place. The guide was very knowledgable, the waiting times were short and it wasn't a boring tour either. The castle is currently under some reconstruction so I'll definitely return to see it to its fullest extend.

Wonderful place to visit, especially at sunset. English - language guide was super helpful and showed the place in great detail. Definitely worth visiting.

A most impressive fortress. Our Tuk Tuk tour driver took us to it...lot's of history with impressive thick walls. Very much worth seeing. Be aware there are tall stairs to climb.

The Aragonese Castle occupies a commanding position on a tiny peninsula in the middle of Brindisi bay, right at the sea entrance to the city. We reached it by car, but found out it's closed due to ongoing renovation works. Anyway, we made some good photos of the area around

Definitely worth the time and money if you're into the history and fortification subject. The size of hallways and 'rooms' is amazing. The guide, with passion, offers a history of how the castle/fort has been evolving over the, showing what when and why was changed or damaged. The spot is worth visiting also for the photos, especially as stated in other comments - in the sunset. The place has been open for tourists back in December 2024, still some areas are out of reach for visitors but hopefully it will change in a couple of years - honestly we're planning to come back for a revisit then. The staff there is responsive and very helpful - our visit got moved by an hour because of weather conditions and we (me and my partner) ended up being the only ones for the last tour with the guide on the day. Guys, kudos to you for your time and dedication :)
